I don't do a lot of reviews. The Hunger Games is one of those stories where I wasn't even sure if I wanted to go see it. On the one hand, people killing each other as entertainment is hardly a new idea. It's been done before--a lot of times. The angle here, of course, is they're using teenagers to kill each other. On the other hand, I've watched the books take off like rockets and was hardly surprised when a movie came along.
Well, I went and saw it. Frankly, the movie was pretty darned good. It's well told and well directed. The main characters are very likable and Donald Sutherland and Woody Harrelson turn in credible supporting performances.
